Martin, who practices law in the State of New York, credits herself with being an advocate, a counselor and an advisor and not just an attorney at law.
Martin is an associated member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the New York County Lawyer’s Association (NYCLA), and the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), where she sits on the Professional Discipline Committee. She is admitted to the United States Southern District of New York, the United States Eastern District of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Court of Federal Claims.
Martin was featured in the December 2001 edition of Money Magazine – “Get Back on Track” which profiled families who were affected by the devastating effect of September 11, 2001 and the provisions they made to ensure financial protection for their families in the future. In December 2001, Martin cut the red ribbon on Smith Martin, LLP with offices located in the Bronx and West Babylon, NY where she was a managing partner.
She has since then embarked on a solo practice as Law Offices of Teresa R. Martin, P.C., with her main office located on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, NY, and affiliated offices in New Jersey and Washington, DC.As an attorney, Martin advocates fully for her clients and is very unconcerned solely with winning or losing a case, but moreover, is concerned with ensuring that her representation is for the benefit of her clients, and not herself.
